What's the hap?

Today is the last day in August and I couldn't be happier about it. I'm excited to move forward into fall and hope that good luck will finally come my way. Some good moments this summer include a trip to Whistler with Scott, outings with the girls, swimming with Scott and Kate in our pool, preping for a new course, indulging in Indian food, and watching Scott's business boom.

School starts in a few days and I'm actually looking forward to getting back into the groove of things. I'm going to be very busy this year as I will be teaching full-time and trying to finish the final three semesters of my Masters Degree at Simon Fraser University. Hopefully I can manage to come up with an interesting idea for research that will take me through the year; so far, I've been working on a few ideas that I'm excited to explore. Hopefully theory will play out positively in the classroom and I can improve my practice.

On Monday it will be Scott's birthday and so I am hosting a small dinner party for him. I'm going out on a limb and will be making chicken/veg/potato korma along with garlic naan bread. My mom and sister are going to help me make a cheese cake for him as well. Hopefully the culinary gods will be guiding my amateur endeavours in the kitchen :-) I'll have to report back on how my efforts were received! Pics to come...
