Baby Jamieson, just finishing up Week 24!

The baby has really filled out, hasn't it? We had the opportunity to find out the sex of the baby, but Scott still doesn't want to know - and I don't want to impose my will. So, the baby's sex remains a mystery...

We have our tour of the Maternity Ward next week and Scott has signed us up for prenatal classes at Douglas College, a short walk from our place. This begins mid-May.

Catching Up!

Scott and I have been EXTREMELY busy. On St. Patrick's Day we celebrated our first-year wedding anniversary in Whistler. The weather held up and we ended up enjoying lunch on a patio in the middle of the village, shopping, and a delicious dinner at a tappas bar. The next morning we enjoyed crepes at a French bakery; as we dined at our window seat, the snow began to fall. It was really a wonderful trip.

Since then Scott has been extremely busy growing his business. He has secured expansion funds, as well as an office downtown, which he will be occupying as of May. I am going to miss coming home from work and having him be there.

Scott and I attented his cousin Andrea's wedding to Christopher in Minter Gardens (near Chilliwack). It was a fun evening, the bride was beautiful, and we got to see a ton of Scott's family on his mom's side. Shena and Curtis even came down from Yellowknife to attend.

Last weekend, our friend, Mark, was in town with his mom and brother. We enjoyed a nice meal together, along with Karen and RJ. Afterwards, we went to the car show at BC place in order to ascertain what cars Scott can actually fit into. We have determined that I definitely need a new car before the baby arrives, but Scott only fits into about 2% of the cars presented in the show - and I'm NOT kidding. So, I feel frustrated because we obviously need to find a vehicle in which Scott won't hit his head on the roof, but yet, I feel for the environment. I just can't imagine getting a gas-guzzler and then speaking to my classes about global warming. These two elements just don't seem to jive.

I've been busy with work and school. I just finished my qualitative research class yesterday and will begin my next semester mid-May. My Master's Degree will be completed (touch wood!) on July 11th. Between now and then, I have to prepare my final paper and put together a presentation to share with my classmates and various SFU professors.

After my class yesterday Scott and I took advantage of the warm weather and spent the evening in English Bay, walking along the seawall, having a very nice dinner at Sala Thai (my favourite restaurant downtown) and walking back to our car via Pender Street to see Scott's new office and check out the yachts at the foot of Cordova. The cherry blossoms were fragrant and the North Shore mountains were impressive - a setting that makes our eastern friends a bit jealous I'm sure.

Congratulations to Sara and Connor on the arrival of their baby girl, Avery Pearl. Both mom and baby are doing well and I hear that Grandma (Judie) is over the moon as one would expect. I've seen a few pics of Avery, and she looks alert, healthy, and wonderful.

Below you will find several pics that I should have posted ages ago.
