Well, anyone who knows me well will know that I absolutely despise birthdays; my naturally pessimistic outlook renders me virtually incapable of enjoying this day. Luckily, this year's birthday was surprisingly easy to get through. Thanks for the cards, gifts, emails, flowers and good cheer that many of you sent my way. Your sentiments are much appeciated and savoured. Thank you.

And the numbers just keep adding up!

And the winner is...

On Saturday, June 30th, my mom was volunteering at the BC Highland Games and decided to purchase some raffle tickets. In keeping with her kind spirit, she decided to put each of our names (Andrew, Scott, Ted, Jeanette, Diane & Charlene) on the tickets she purchased. Hours later Andrew's name was drawn! What a lucky wee duck!
What's most interesting about this is that years ago when we were at a highland games in Portland, Oregon my mom put her name in the raffle and won a trip for two to Scotland! She ended up going in the fall of that year and had a great time.
Hopefully her good luck will carry on (touch wood!).
