Holiday Festivities!

Scott and I have been very busy during the month of December. We've spent heaps of time with our niece and nephew, Kate, and Cameron and we've also attended many holiday parties. The excitement of our holidays hit a crescendo when we performed a citizen's arrest on a drunk driver on the 28th. Scott gave an official report of what we saw and the police also have our 911 tapes. It is likely that Scott will have to appear in court if this 18 year old girl decides to appeal the DUI charge. More details as they come!

Here are a few pics of this season; I have more to post in the next few days.

It's a little boy!

Jeanette gave birth to a little boy (6 lbs 9oz) just past 2AM on Friday, November 23rd. Both mom and baby are doing great. Here are a few pics from our visit with them tonight:

Welcome to your new home Toshiki!

Last night Toshiki kindly hosted our group for dinner at his new condo on Klahanie Drive. When we first arrived, what immediately struck me was how similar his place was to mine. I guess that Polygon finds a formula that works and they go with it. Anyway, it was really nice getting back into touch with everyone in the group.

After I left, I had a warm thought rush over me that left me thinking. I love, trust, and respect these people; moreover, I feel so completely grateful for them.

Here are a few more pics of our evening; unfortunately, I didn't get a pic of our host :-(

What's the hap?

Today is the last day in August and I couldn't be happier about it. I'm excited to move forward into fall and hope that good luck will finally come my way. Some good moments this summer include a trip to Whistler with Scott, outings with the girls, swimming with Scott and Kate in our pool, preping for a new course, indulging in Indian food, and watching Scott's business boom.

School starts in a few days and I'm actually looking forward to getting back into the groove of things. I'm going to be very busy this year as I will be teaching full-time and trying to finish the final three semesters of my Masters Degree at Simon Fraser University. Hopefully I can manage to come up with an interesting idea for research that will take me through the year; so far, I've been working on a few ideas that I'm excited to explore. Hopefully theory will play out positively in the classroom and I can improve my practice.

On Monday it will be Scott's birthday and so I am hosting a small dinner party for him. I'm going out on a limb and will be making chicken/veg/potato korma along with garlic naan bread. My mom and sister are going to help me make a cheese cake for him as well. Hopefully the culinary gods will be guiding my amateur endeavours in the kitchen :-) I'll have to report back on how my efforts were received! Pics to come...
