Happy 60th Birthday Auntie Judie!

Yesterday we spent a wonderful afternoon at the Beach House Restaurant in West Vancouver. My cousins, Sara, Chris, and David put on a wonderful cocktail party for their mom's birthday. The locale was exquisite; the balcony overlooked the boardwalk just west of the Lions' Gate Bridge. The food was wonderful and the company was even better! It was especially nice to meet Miss Avery for the first time and to introduce her to the Evsters.

We are very busy these days. The Evsters finished up with his semester of Mother Goose and Jump Start. In light of these openings in our days, we are ramping up our attendance at Strong Start, which will end with the closing of the school year. I'm thinking about enrolling Evan in Gymboree and maybe even Little Gym if there is one in our area. If this fine weather holds we will be utilizing the salt water pool in our complex for sure. We will also be attending Storytime at the local library. Phew... we have a lot going on these days.

Recently we went to Whistler for the weekend. Scott spent Saturday afternoon in the trees, literally. He went on a zip trek for three hours and had a very relaxing, exciting time. We ate wonderful meals, walked about and even enjoyed a picnic at Rebagliati park. The weather was absolutely perfect.

Last weekend we took the Evsters to Maplewood Farm in North Vancouver. As per usual, Evan was not afraid to get up close and personal with the animals. He had an especially fun time hanging out with the goats in their enclosure. Afterwards we went into Deep Cove for lunch on a patio.

On the horizon for us is our trip to Maui! Yeah! So many people we know have gone with their babies and have given us great tips for our trip.

Spring with the Evsters :)

The Evsters is now eight months old and is changing every day. Today he woke up and I asked him if he could clap his hands and he did! This is his newest trick and he loves to clap at just about everything. He has also learned how to crawl and is 'furniture walking'. We think he is fairly close to walking as he can stand on his own for several seconds. As a result of such development, Scott and I have realized just how unsafe our place is.

Over the past few months we have greatly enjoyed the time we have spent with our friends and family. We feel lucky to have such wonderful people around us who are genuinely kind and loving towards us and our little Evsters. Evan is lucky as he has a wonderful group of friends that he enjoys playing with at Strong Start, Jump Start, Storytime and various other outings to the beach, park etcetera. He also enjoys Friday lunches with his cousins :) As you can see, we lead a very full and rich life.

We recently booked a trip to Maui and are looking forward to spending some relaxing time together. Arlene, Jestina, and Kara were so helpful in the planning phase of this trip; we thank them for their invaluable input. After our outing to the Island (Scott spoke at a conference), I am especially thankful that we booked a direct flight to Maui! This will make the travel much more manageable.
