We're Married!!!!!!

Scott and I were married on March 17th at Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club. I began the day with a feeling of calm that I hadn't had in some time; everything just seemed right.

My mom walked me down the aisle wearing our family tartan (Dress Gordon), while Andrew played some of my favourite tunes on his 'small pipes'. My mom looked wonderful in her kilt and it felt nice to have the Scottish 'connection' that I love so much present at our wedding.

Scott and I exchanged our vows without incident :-) and our best friends, Jeanette, and Mark were our 'official' witnesses, who did much more than simply sign our marriage license. As Scott stated at the reception, Jeanette managed to 'shore me up' in the weeks leading up to the wedding, meanwhile Mark took exceptional care of Scott along with his wife Laura, and friend Colin. In addition to all of this, Miss Kate was a flower girl who decided to hold an impromptu dance recital while the four of us were signing the marriage license.

In attendance were family members and friends that travelled from such places as Nova Scotia (Taylor and MC Roland), Portland, Oregon, the Interior of BC, Vancouver Island, Ontario, North West Territories, Alberta, as well as the Yukon. After truly enjoying the wedding, our only regret is that we didn't have enough time to spend with everyone who traveled so far to support us and our union.

When I asked my friend Paula about her wedding in August, she stated that it was a blur and now I truly understand her experience. The evening seemed to quickly and effortlessly float away. Luckily, however, we have photographs to transport us back to the night. The first photos I have seen of the wedding were taken by Scott’s friend Paul, who, had I known was so talented, would have been hired for the job! Hopefully the photographer did an equally good job at capturing some of the images of the night.

Below are photos taken by Paul. Unfortunately I can’t post pictures of some of Scott’s family because one of his family members told me in the summer that I’m not to post pictures of her or her children, so I’m slightly limited in this manner. Perhaps when we get the photographer’s pictures I will be able to find more that are ‘acceptable’ to post. For now here are a few of Paul’s shots:
